Why operate ?

To be able to do without glasses or lenses, this has been the choice of more than 20 million patients worldwide. Regardless of the type of visual disorder, people with myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia can now have their lives changed.

Today, refractive surgery is a fully standardized ophthalmologic discipline in its own right that has benefited from the recent development of new Excimer and Femtosecond laser technologies. Operative assessments are also very precise and the advanced technological tools used are appropriate and specific.Today, the postoperative outcomes are excellent and the predictability is constant. The new techniques have been recognized and validated by all learned societies.

Refractive surgery is a functional surgery that helps recover vision autonomy, without the need of optical correction in daily activities. The reasons for choosing surgery are numerous and different for each patient.

The goal is always the same, freedom of vision for sports activities, professional activity, daily tasks, or simply for more self-confidence and the possibility of a freer life.

We usually say that the procedure can change a person’s life.

During the preoperative assessment, the surgeon will identify with you your expectations and needs and will offer you the best possible therapeutic solution by integrating all test results from the examinations performed.

To be eligible for surgery, you must be an adult, have stabilized optical correction and not present with ophthalmological contraindications (keratoconus, too thin cornea, intercurrent diseases such as cataract, proven glaucoma,…) or general diseases (especially general inflammatory diseases that can affect the cornea, such as rheumatoid arthritis), and have a correction which is accessible to the laser.

Pregnant or breastfeeding women are not eligible for treatment during this period.
